 REGISTRAR CHARGES CLASS REPS TO BE GOOD AMBASSADORS

The class representatives of various levels in Federal Polytechnic Bauchi have been charged to dress well and be law abiding students in order to project good image of the institution to the general public.

 

Registrar of the institution, Mallam Abdullahi Badara, made the call during an interactive session with all the class representatives, class advisers, guidance and counseling unit and other stakeholders of the Polytechnic.

He said that class representatives are part of the institution's organogram ranging from the Rector down to the last chronicles of leadership in the organizational chart of the Polytechnic.

 

Badara said Class Representatives are not just privileged persons, but selected intellectual individuals who are knowledgeable enough to manage the affairs of the class and the institution at large.

 


"Class representatives have equal rights as other staff in the institution to ask question where he or she did not understand. Representatives should at all-time dress decent so that their fellow coursemates will look up to them as example. Also, they should respect each other and every member of their respective classes", Badara added.  

 

Responding to the issue of inadequate electricity supply on campus, he mentioned that the management of the Polytechnic disconnected lights from halls majorly because of the thievery act which has become a major threat to the Polytechnic.

 

Badara expressed dismay on how facilities are destroyed and stolen while making reference to the FST lecture hall where all ceiling fans, electric power bulbs, controls etc. were removed by unknown individuals.

 

On her part, the Deputy Registrar of the institution, Hajiyah Uwa Shehu Abubakar stressed that class representatives are upright individuals and also watchdogs by identifying the problems in a class and acting accordingly.

 

Similarly, Mrs. Aderinkomo Abosede of Guidance and Counseling Unit called on the students to shun any illegal act that lead to expulsion from the institution, saying the Guidance and Counseling Unit in the institution is open for the class representatives for advice and guide.
